CAMDEN MILITARY SPARTANS WRESTLING

The Camden Military Academy Spartans traveled to Charleston to challenge R.B. Stall High School
and Goose Creek High School in a tri-match Tuesday evening.

The Spartans lost the opener to a strong Goose Creek team by a score of 65-18.

"Goose Creek is strong in every weight class, I felt we should have scored a few more points against
them but obviously they are a talented and well-coached team," stated CMA Coach Tom Hewitt.
Goose Creek is a top ten 4A school that will challenge for a state championship," he added.
Winning in the contest for the Spartans were Nick Leftwich (135), Josh Burnette (215), and Chris Martin (189).

The Spartans got back on the winning track in the second match of the evening by beating
Stall High School 72-12. "It would have been a long ride back had we not come back with a
strong performance," stated Coach Hewitt. Winning for the Spartans were Eddie Aiken(103),
Alex Peplinski (112), Andrew Smith (119), Bret Scot (125), Jason Green (130), Logan Rawls (140),
Carter Langlo (160), Chris Martin (189), Josh Burnette (215), and Heavyweight Michael Wilson.
Also winning his first varsity match was sophomore Cesar McFarlin (145).
