2011 Best Western North/South Wrestling All-Star Classic

The South Carolina Wrestling Coaches Association would like to congratulate the following individuals who have been selected to participate in the 2011 Best Western Ocean Sands North/South All Star Classic in North Myrtle Beach, March 3-5. Parents/Fans - This is the hotel sponsoring the North/South Wrestling All-Star Classic and providing good rates: Best Western Ocean Sands 1525 South Ocean Blvd. North Mytle Beach 1-800-588-3570 The following is provided by the SCWCA: NEW NORTH/SOUTH FORMAT In order to create more interest and involve more team competition, the Best Western All Star Wrestling classic will undergo a new format. Teams have been created based on school classification as well as North or South. The 4A/1A North team will wrestle the 3A/2A South team on Friday night. The 4A/1A South team will wrestle the 3A/2A North team on Friday night also. Then the 2 winners will wrestle on Saturday and the 2 losing teams will wrestle on Saturday to give every team 2 matches. Each wrestler will wrestle in each scheduled dual, some will wrestle twice. We will still have 3/4 feature match ups. We have also created a Team SC select team that will in the future wrestle against a team from North Carolina. Weston Beck - Rock Hill Weston has won 2 state titles and has been in the state finals all 3 years leading to the state tournament this weekend. His only defeat in the finals came last year to Aaron Hansen from Summerville. Seth Beck - Rock Hill Like his twin brother, Weston, Seth is also a 3 time finalist entering this season. Last year Seth was able to win his first state title at 130 pounds. His only losses in the state finals have come to Hansen of Summerville. Stuart Hope - Chapin Stuart is a 2 time defending state champion entering this season. He won his titles at 112, and 103 pounds the last 2 seasons, He will compete at 119 pounds this weekend. Jamar Gore - Loris Jamar is a returning State Champion from Loris. He is the only returning senior state champion in the 1A/2A division.
